Nestled in the Ozarks of Missouri, the Kickapoo Trace Muzzleloaders was founded to preserve and celebrate the rich traditions of America's frontier heritage. More than a shooting club, we are a family of history enthusiasts, black powder shooters, craftsmen, outdoorsmen, and women who share a passion for the skills, fellowship, and way of life of the 1800s.

Our name honors the historic trails and Native American heritage that once crossed this region. The Kickapoo people were known throughout the Midwest and Missouri frontier, leaving a lasting mark on the history of the area.

At Kickapoo Trace, members experience history firsthand through traditional muzzleloading firearms, primitive camping, mountain man gatherings, historical demonstrations, black powder competitions, hunting events, educational programs, and family-friendly activities. Whether dressed in period clothing or modern attire, our members share a common goal: keeping the traditions of the past alive for future generations.

Throughout the year, the club hosts monthly meetings, potlucks, workdays, fun shoots, meat shoots, squirrel hunts, bonfires, and special events that bring together both seasoned black powder enthusiasts and those just beginning their journey into living history.
